The International Day of Working Women recalls the struggle of women for their participation, equality with men in society and in their development as a person. It’s celebrated on 8th march.
From 2011 “Manos Unidas” began putting dedications to the days of this day. These are those who have been:
•2011 - Equal access to education, training, science and technology: pathway to decent work for women.•2012 - Empowering rural women-Ending hunger and poverty.•2013 - A promise is a promise: time to take action to end violence against women.
The value of working women in society
The steps towards the recognition of women in the workplace are slow, but progressing.
Today's woman is respect, value and occupies space and society previously unimaginable. But even if the woman has risen ever higher echelons, is still haunted by the discrimination, sexism and, as if that were not enough, she is still a victim of sexual assault and gender violence.
